The practice of Guru Nirmanakaya Jnanadakini is a terma teaching of Dzogchen Master Chogyal Namkhai Norbu and belongs to his Longsal cycle of teachings. This book contains the essential instructions for performing the practice of Guru Nirmanakaya Jnanadakini, compiled in particular from the teachings given in August 2010 at Merigar West as well as in 2007 at Tashigar North. It comprises instructions on visualizations and mantra recitation, illustrations of the mudras including ritual instruments, instructions on how to play the ritual instruments, illustrations of the deity in yab/yum form, and the practice text.

The appendix contains further descriptions of Guru Nirmanakaya Jnanadakini and Samantabhadra Padma Heruka along with an enumeration of the benefits of the practice. The instructions are presented for the practice in its long, medium, and short versions.

This book is intended only for those who have received the related transmissions of the teaching from the Master at Tashigar North 2007 or Merigar West 2010 in particular, it is necessary to have received the root initiation tsawang in order to do the practice of the Guru Jnanadakini.

Chogyal Namkhai Norbu explains the significance of recognizing her as the authentic Guru, This series of teachings is called Lama Yeshe Khandro, meaning Guru Jnanadakini. "Why do we say Guru? Guru means our knowledge of the real state. If you follow the Dzogchen teaching, the Teacher always introduces you to that state and you try to abide in it. This is the real Guru."
